In John 18:38 Pilate asked Jesus, “what is truth?” Pilate couldn’t see that the essence of pure absolute truth was standing right in front of him. Derek Prince identified that truth is found in three components, all of which agree and coincide with one another. Truth is Jesus, He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Truth is the word of God (John 17:17), Jesus was the word made flesh…, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Truth is the Holy Spirit; He is the Spirit of truth and will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). As a believer of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit lives in us and we will know the truth and the truth shall set us free (John 8:32). When something does not sit right with our Spirit, when we don’t have peace about something, that’s the Lord showing us something is not right and to not go through with whatever the situation or decision is.
The bible calls us to lay aside falsehood and speak truth with each other, for we are members of one another (Ephesians 4:25) for lying lips are an abomination to the Lord and those who deal faithfully are His delight (Proverbs 12:22).
We as the body of Christ, the church of the living God is supposed to be the pillar and foundation of the truth which is found in the doctrine of Christ. 2 Timothy 4:2 tells us to proclaim the Word of God and stand upon it no matter what and to rise to the occasion and preach when it is convenient and when it is not. Also, to preach in the full expression of the Holy Spirit, with wisdom and patience as we instruct and teach others. We as the church and body of Christ must guard and preserve the gospel against error and inaccuracy. As we preserve His gospel so will He deliver us from every evil work and preserve us for His heavenly kingdom (2 Timothy 4:18).
1 John 1: 5-10 shows us that God is pure light, there’s not a trace of darkness in Him and if we claim that we share life with Him but keep walking in darkness we’re fooling ourselves and are not living in truth. But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds Him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, continually cleanses us from all sin. The scripture continues to say that if we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. But if we freely admit our sins when His light uncovers them, He will be faithful to forgive us every time because of Christ Jesus.
Jesus said in John 8:12 that He is the light of the world and whoever follows Him will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. As long as we are in Christ and walk in His truth we are children of the light and children of the day, we don’t belong to the night nor to darkness, this is why we must not fall asleep, as the rest do, but keep wide awake, stay alert and clearheaded by placing the breastplate of faith and love over our hearts, and a helmet of the hope of salvation over our thoughts (1 Thessalonians 5: 5-6, 8).
John 3:19-21 reveals that the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but many people love the darkness more than the light, for their actions are evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed but those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
All scripture is God- breathed, given by divine inspiration is used for instruction, conviction of sin, correction, training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). Your bible will arm you against false doctrine. Believe in the logos (God’s written word) and rhema (God’s spoken word) of God.
Listen to the Holy Spirit who will guide you to all truth and stand firm in your faith. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind which you can achieve through reading the word (Romans 12:2).
God desires that everyone be saved and to the knowledge and recognition of the divine truth (1 Timothy 2: 4). Don’t let anyone sway you away from these divine and absolute truths: that Jesus is the only way to the Father. He came down from heaven, was born of the virgin Mary and became man. He suffered, died and was buried, in the fulfillment of the scriptures for the atonement of our sins and for us to be reconciled with the Father. He went into Sheol and after 3 days and nights He rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us. Anything that diverts from these basic truths of our faith is pure deception from the enemy.
We as believers and ministers to those around us and those who we encounter daily, are, according to Paul, to teach sound doctrine which produces men and women of good character whose lifestyle identifies them as true Christians (Titus 2:1). What we believe, what we teach or minister to others must be seen through our actions and example. We are to represent Christ well and follow His example by how we conduct ourselves (1 Timothy 3:15), being His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20). But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves (James 1:22).
Pray today for God to help you be the best person you can be to best serve Him and be a great example of Jesus. When others see you, your lifestyle and your fruit they should see Jesus and they would be attracted to get whatever it is you have. Then, you would be able to tell them about the gospel of truth that is in Jesus Christ. Spend time in the word daily and ask God to help you be more like Jesus. We cannot change in and of ourselves but only with God can we truly change.
Pray this prayer below for yourself or a for a loved one for wisdom and for you get to know God more deeply so that you walk in His divine light.
Father God I humbly come before you and repent of my sins. Father open my spiritual eyes and give me revelations of who You really are. Father I seek Your face and want to get to know You more intimately and have a stronger fellowship with You. Father I pray that You, God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. I pray the eyes of my understanding being enlightened and that I may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, according to the working of Your mighty power which You worked in Christ when You raised Him from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come (Ephesians 1:17-21). Jesus make Yourself known to me in dreams, visions and angelic visitations. Holy Spirit minister to me and quicken my spirit. Help me to be more sensitive to Your promptings. Father in James 1:5 it is written that if we need wisdom all we have to do is ask You, our generous God and You will give it to us. Father I ask you now for Your divine wisdom and I receive this promise and thank You Heavenly Father for being so faithful. Jesus help me be a better representative of You here on this earth so that when others see me they see You. Help me to be a bright light representing Your absolute truth, piercing the darkness of this world. I praise and glorify Your holy name. I ask all this in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
