Back to Calvary (Part 3 of 3)
For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 AMP
An important truth to grasp is that everything is in our power and control through Jesus Christ. Jesus’ work on the cross was an absolute perfect work that’s why we are saved by grace, through faith, so that no man should boast, and our salvation is a gift of God that cannot be earned (Ephesians 2:8-9). God granted us free will giving us the opportunity to choose Him, to love Him, make time for Him and to be with Him. Again, he is the sweetest gentleman.
We are a spirit, living in a body, with a soul which is made up of our mind, will and emotions. Satan can attack you in your body and soul, he cannot touch your spirit man because that’s directly connected to God. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
That’s why it’s crucial that you make your body and soul be submitted to your spirit man so that the body and spirit doesn’t control you because since the devil can affect your body and soul and if one of those two are in control of you in totality, then, the devil is able to gain control using one of those two things. Don’t ever allow him to gain that control.
Controlling Your Mind
That’s why we are to always be alert and conscious and keep our mind controlled and focused on Jesus, for 2 Corinthians 103:6 states that though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. By doing this you must also fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8). This is the key to winning the battlefield of the mind.

Controlling Your Emotions
Emotions are fleeting and erratic that’s why it’s so important to keep plugged into Him and keep focused on Jesus and what is in the Bible, which is His will and promises for your life because once you do, things of this world and negative circumstances become secondary thereby achieving the controlling of your emotions. Be more aware of your emotions and anything that makes you feel bad is more likely from the enemy. After surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and being born-again and the Holy Spirit comes and lives in you he brings with Him, giving you access to, the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Guarding Your Heart
Above all else, guard your heart will all diligence, for they influence everything else in your life (Proverbs 4:23). Maintain a heart free from offense, bitterness, resentment, extending forgiveness as Jesus instructed—”seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:22). This symbolic 490 times daily translates to pardoning others approximately every two minutes! This teaches us that forgiveness isn’t merely a sporadic event but rather our continuous way of living. One thing I’ve learned is that people will disappoint you, but God never will. Jesus said to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you (Matthew 5:44). By doing these things you maintain, control and guard your fire, making sure it keeps burning strong. This divine flame provides protection (Zechariah 2:5 describes a “wall of fire” around the city) while requiring maintenance—just as priests cleaned the temple’s firebox daily to prevent ashes from smothering the flame, we as believers must regularly purge sin and compromise from their lives. Even as the Israelites progressed from Moses’ tabernacle to the magnificent Solomon’s grand temple, with an upgraded and elaborate alter they still maintained the same sacred fire. Therefore, spiritual fire and passion must be maintained regardless of material success.

Only God can… and He is more than able, He is faithful and true. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He has the very hairs of your head, all numbered (Luke 12:7) and written your name on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:16). He created our inmost being and knit us and formed us together in the womb, He fearfully and wonderfully made us (Psalm 139:13-14) and He loves you dearly. He made us to love us.
For God so (greatly) loved and dearly prized the world, that He (even) gave His (One and) only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him (as Savior) shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Too much of the church has lost its fire but the fire needs to be rekindled within us individually before we can come together as a church and fuel our fire collectively and call for revival; it first begins with us. So today if you are feeling like you need more fire and passion for God deep within your soul and in your life, and if you aren’t spending well deserved time with Him, I urge you to do so today.

I make this a clarion call to all who read this to come back to the cross today to reignite your spiritual fire. I pray that these words touch your heart so much so that now you realize all that Jesus endured on the cross was for the opportunity to have a relationship with you and if He had to came and endure all that He did only for you, He certainly would have.
The cross was the greatest act of love this world has ever and will ever know. Make an appointment and date with him same time every day and discipline yourself to keep it and then after some time, you will see He will be waiting for you at that set time and place. Love on Him today as we celebrate Resurrection Day, remembering what He did and accomplished on the cross was to restore His relationship with you, don’t neglect Him any longer! Our King has risen hallelujah!

Say the prayer below as a first step to your personal journey of coming back to the cross to rekindle and restore your spiritual fire and light.
A Step Toward The Cross: The Prayer
Heavenly Father, I want to come into your presence with thanksgiving and into your courts with praise, I want to thank you and praise you for what you did and accomplished on the cross. The greatest victory and love story the world has ever known and ever will know. I surrender to you Jesus and make you my Lord and savior. You suffered and died for us, you bore our sins on the cross, you freed us from bondage and by your stripes we were healed. Thank you, Father, for giving your only begotten son so that none should perish but have everlasting life. Father, if I have ever exhibited spiritual laziness, forgive me, I repent of it. Thank you, Father, for your forgiveness and for this opportunity to come back to you. Holy Spirit help me to not stray away ever again and if I ever do, help me to always come back to the cross, my power source. Father, fill me full of your light, love, peace and your Holy Spirit. Heavenly Father, help me rekindle and ignite the fire and passion within me and fan the flame and keep it burning so that I have your divine presence and with that I know you will blind my enemies, and I am able to receive your guidance and revelation. Help me to be more disciplined in keeping my sacred one-on-one time with you. Help me to always be focused on you and always keep you as my main priority and not be bothered with the distractions, worries and anxieties of this world but on you Jesus and on your word and promises knowing you are faithful and true. Help me to always remain in You and You in me and to put you first so that I bear much fruit. Help me to seek first your kingdom and righteousness, knowing fully well all things will be added to me (Matthew 6:33). Help me to not be ignorant by the devil’s devices but grant me divine discernment, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Help me to be alert and conscious to be ready to cast down any thought that rises against you and to overcome and control any negative emotion that may arise. Help me to always be led by the Spirit. Help me to live a good and righteous life pleasing to you so that my aroma will go up to you as a sweet fragrance, pleasing to you, so that you can accept me and manifest your holiness and glory in my life and supply all my needs according to your riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Father, as I devout myself more to you, equip me for what you have destined for me to accomplish for you here on this earth, for your purpose, your destiny for my life. Here I am Lord, use me! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
