Our lives are made up of different dimensions. We have only truly made Jesus the Lord over our lives when we have totally surrendered each aspect and dimension to Him. God is Light and in Him there’s no darkness at all (1 John 1:6). When we are born-again, the Holy Spirit the truest and purest light, comes and lives within us and we become in Christ, a new creation, the old has passed away and behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).
If we haven’t fully surrendered and if we lack knowledge of Him, we will never live in the fullness of life Jesus wants us to live and achieve our God-given destinies. The difference between a victorious believer seeing the goodness of God in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13) and a defeated believer is one who has and walks in the revelation knowledge of God and His enlightenment, and one who does not. One walks in the illumination and light of His word, and one does not.
The value of life is directly correlated with the knowledge of God. The more you increase your knowledge of Him, the value of your life increases. Knowledge is power.
Apostle Joshua Selman said that the ignorant believer will always be a defeated believer. The life of God that has been administered to us on account of salvation is knowledge dependent. That means, in as much as you are saved if you do not contend for light and high spiritual level illumination there is a limit to which your life may not cross beyond into fullness of destiny.
Ignorance means you don’t know, you lack the knowledge, some people want to be ignorant and don’t want the knowledge but the danger with that is the Bible says they were destroyed because of their lack of knowledge.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children (Hosea 4:6).
What’s worse than an ignorant believer is a believer who knows and yet refuses to believe or to act upon the knowledge they’ve received, pushing it aside as insignificant, being ungrateful for receiving such a treasure or worse, they may do the opposite and sin. Whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin (James 4:17) and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
In life you can choose to be a productive or destructive tool, a tool to be used for and by the kingdom of God or Satan. The choice is yours.
In order to live the life that Jesus meant for us to live, following His example, fulfilling your destiny and purpose, accomplishing the duties of the great commission and walking in the blessings and promises of God, depends on how much you nurture and grow the light that is within you through gaining and acting upon His revelation knowledge.
In everything you do, you either feed your faith or feed your fear. When you feed your faith through reading the Bible, prayer, worship, speaking in tongues, listening to a sermon, etc. you feed your faith, but if you listen or watch something evil, carnal or wordly or keep bad company, your light dims. “Bad company corrupts good character” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
This divine light can be fully seen in the spiritual world but permeates in the natural. When others see the way you live and conduct your life through what you say and do, the evidence of your life showing forth and reflecting Jesus and the blessings of God, it will be then others will want what you have. When they approach you to ask you your secret you tell them it’s no secret, it’s Jesus.
The moment we said yes to Jesus and no to the world and the god if it Satan, we entered into a war between light and darkness, where our enemy wants to steal and kill and destroy us (John 10:10). If we don’t know how to stand and cover ourselves, he may do just that.
If we lack the knowledge, revelation and illumination from God and the word of God which teaches us to war and live in victory, how will we know that we are to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7)? How are we to stand if we are ignorant of his devices shown to us in the scriptures? If we do not read the Bible, we will never know that love is the highest form of spiritual warfare. We will never know to overcome in your toughest and lowest times the Bible says to lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees (Hebrews 12:12) and praise and worship Him just because of who He is, what He has done and what He will do for you.
In the Old Testament in 2 Chronicles 20:21-22, when the Israelites were at war who did the Lord send in front? It was the worshippers. The appointed worshippers went in front of the army to sing and praise God and when they did, God acted and set an ambush against the enemy. In verses 15-17 before this, God, through Jahaziel, said to do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the battle is not theirs it’s His and all they needed to do was stand firm and hold their position.
At times, God Himself will fight your battles and go before you, but other times He speaks directly to you or speaks through someone to give you the strategy on what to do for victory. Always, when someone tells you something from God, go to God Himself, put it towards Him and ask Him to give you confirmation. In both instances and at all times we are to stand and hold our position and peace.
Don’t talk to God about your mountain, speak to the mountain itself about your God and command it to be made low. Use your power and authority Jesus sacrificed, suffered and died to give you! There are times to pray but there are times to exercise your God-given authority and command your mountain to move and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you (Matthew 17:20) but if you doubt in your heart you will not receive anything from the Lord (James 1:7).
None of your works could make Him love you any more or any less, religion will tell you otherwise that it’s by your works, but that’s not true. For it’s by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). Because of His love, sacrifice and gift, we want to do good works as a result for Him because faith without works is dead. Notice the difference, works is as a result of being saved not done to achieve salvation.
It’s not about religion but it’s all about a relationship with God.
When you realize what He has done for you and how he demonstrated His love for us that while we were still sinners, He died for us (Romans 5:8), you will willingly want to live that life of absolute surrender to Him in all you say, do, think, watch, eat, in all aspects of your being. But how can you know what to do and what not to do to live a life pleasing to him? By reading and studying His word and listening to Him. Doing this you feed your faith and gain a higher spiritual level of revelation and illumination.
In the kingdom we only arise and shine when our light comes (Isaiah 60:1). When you make time for Him, to read His word, worship Him and listen to Him and enter into His presence, His light comes to you.
When you encounter Him like this you will always ascend and grow and overcome your challenges and all that is coming against you and that’s trying to stop you from growing your light and fulfilling your destiny. With all of the false prophets and deception that’s in the world our Bible is the only true light and Absolute Truth that we need to build and grow our foundation upon, and we are to keep His word hidden in our hearts.
Apostle Selman said that every dimension of your life that is bankrupt of revelation is the dimension that will exact dominion over you. What are you worrying about today? Pastor Craig Groeschel said that what you worry about the most often reveals where you trust God the least. Do you worry about everything? Well then that shows you have no trust in the God who is more than able, and those things will have dominion over you. Believers, on the other hand are called to have dominion and subdue the earth.
Our God is more than able, He is the God of the impossible.
God is able to do far more than we could ever ask, think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20) because of the Holy Spirit, who holds resurrection power, His mighty power who is at work within us fueling us and giving us new life, light, strength, grace and all of the fruit of the spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). With this in mind, we can surely say, that in any circumstance we CAN do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us and fuels us from within (Philippians 4:13).
Submit yourself like Mary and not be like Martha running around to get things done and being distracted; distraction is one of Satan’s strategies from stopping you from growing your light.
Jesus said in Luke 10:41-42, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one and Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Mary chose to be at her master’s feet and nothing and nobody will be able to take that away from her.
Apostle Selman said that it’s impossible to come into the presence of the living God and open your heart to receive and return the way you came to Him. Look beyond your challenges and circumstances and fix your eyes upon Jesus and you will rise higher than your circumstances.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves, do what it says (James 1:22). Hearing is only the first part, but don’t stop at just mental assent, don’t just be a hearer of the word and not a doer. Believe the word, don’t doubt, and mix it with your faith. Believe that He is personally talking to you and you alone when you read about His promises. Receive it by faith in His name and it is yours!
If Jesus had to come and die for only you, He would have.
Our King came to serve and not be served and to give His life as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28). Therefore, since He came to totally surrender and be a willing sacrifice for us, won’t you want to get to know the incredible God that made the greatest act of love toward you?
Jesus was the word made flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14). By spending time in the word, you get to know Him personally. In any relationship the only way you get to know the other person is by spending time with them. Spend more time with God, get to know His heart toward you and His will for your life because His will is His word. I heard once that the Bible is a love letter from God to you. There’s no greater love than His, than He who laid down His life for His friends (John 15:13).
When you nurture and grow your light you are able to better affect all the people, places and atmosphere around you. All creation groans for the saints to realize and walk in their power and authority. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God (Romans 8:19).
The only power and authority Satan has is what you give him. Ignorance and rejection of revelation knowledge and the dimming of your light gives Satan power. The more power he has, the more authority he gains in the world. We cannot be ignorant of who we are in Christ and what was accomplished at the whipping post and the cross.
Jesus won back everything that the first Adam lost. We were paid at a high price therefore we are His and our lives are not our own, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, we are bearers of His light, so we are to honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Jesus said in John 12:24 that a single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies, because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat- all because one grain died. As Christians we are to live a life of repentance and surrender where we surrender our lives like Paul, who said he dies daily (1 Corinthians 15:31). When we take up the cross and die daily, we allow God to resurrect us to produce a great harvest where He will shower His favor upon our lives.
Keep turning away from your carnal being and what you once were without Christ, the old man, and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24) and strive towards the light of Christ.
When you grow your light, no weapon formed against you will ever prosper (Isaiah 54:17), your enemy’s attacks won’t be able to come near you. Their strategies and assignments against you will not manifest. They won’t be able to touch you because you will be living in the blessing of God. Just like Balaam could not curse the Israelites in the book of Numbers, your enemies won’t be able to curse you or cause you harm and if they try, know that God will always turn around what was meant for your harm, He will turn it around for your good.
In the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25: 14-30 we learn that to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. (Matthew 25:29). Therefore, shine your light and share your light!
I issue out a calling to the saints, the church, the body and the bride of Jesus Christ this Resurrection Day, an urgent call back to holiness, sanctification, righteousness, and illumination. A call to humble ourselves and pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, then He will hear us from heaven and will forgive our sin and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Everything our Master does is wonderful, for our God is so wonderful and absolutely good. We are to be holy just as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). Let us sanctify ourselves, set ourselves apart from this evil world by keeping His decrees and putting them into practice by the way we live our lives and when we do this, then He will make us holy unto Himself (Leviticus 20:7-8). Let us take up our cross and follow Him, our commander, for the sake of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ loving not our lives unto death for we overcome our enemy by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11).
Always keep in mind, if you do something in one area of your life, no matter how small it may be, eventually it will trickle down to every other area of your life, even to the bigger things. You compromise in one area and that would lead to compromising in other areas. Don’t ever compromise!
Let us not be distracted by the things of this world where the god of it is Satan. We are not of this world (John 17:16) and are called to not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him because all this world offers is- the lust of the flesh (love of money, material things), lust of the eyes (impurity) and the pride of life (1 John 2:15 ESV). Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God (James 4:4).
What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? (Mark 8:36-37).
No one can serve two masters, for either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other; you cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24). Money is meant to enrich the lives of the godly not to be squandered on sin (Proverbs 10:16) and whatever does not proceed from faith is sin (Romans 14:23). You don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it, and even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. (James 4:2-3).
We are blessed to be a blessing to others not for our own selfish desires.
Constantly fix your eyes, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, (Hebrews 12:2) and let us realign ourselves today and answer this call to come back to and strive for holiness, sanctification, illumination and righteousness and let us never be ashamed but proudly proclaim the Good News to all those we encounter in these sinful days (Mark 8: 38) knowing He is looking down upon us, smiling at us and well-pleased.
Pray this prayer below as a first step in the direction of answering this call. The first step towards being salt and light in this world, like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden, piercing the darkness of this world and let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father (Matthew 5:14-16).
Father God thank you for who you are, everything that you have done, is doing and are going to do for me. I repent of my sins, and I completely make you the Lord over every aspect of my life. I completely submit, commit, surrender and yield myself to you Father. I detach myself from this world. I die to and abandon myself and my carnal man and take up my cross and follow you. I am a true seeker. I hold nothing at all back from you, but I lay it all at the foot of the cross. It is not I that live but you live in me (Galatians 2:20). It is not by might nor by power but by your spirit (Zechariah 4:6) I am made a new creation. Father God who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer (Psalms 19:12-14 NKJV). Help me Holy Spirit to change what I need to change to become a better person to better serve you. Here I am Lord send and use me for your glory. Help me to overcome anyone or anything that may want to distract me away from nurturing and gaining your true light. Help me to be more dedicated to getting to know you better. Father, grant me more discipline on a daily basis to eat of my daily bread, the bread of life that is your Word and feed my spirit man. Grant me divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Help me each day to always grow deeper in the revelation knowledge of who you are. Appear to me in dreams visions and angelic visitations. Help me to grow and nurture my light. Help me to hear you more clearly, louder than the lies of the evil one. Help me to be not just a hearer but a doer of your word. Father help me to always focus and give attention to your words and incline my ear to your sayings. May they never depart from my eyes and help me to keep them in the midst of my heart. Help me to keep and guard my heart with all diligence. Help me put away from me a deceitful mouth and put perverse lips far from me. May my eyes look straight ahead and my eyelids look right before me. May the path of my feet be on the good and righteous path and let all my ways be established. May they never turn right or left and help me always to remove my feet from evil (Psalm 4:20-27). Help me to realize who I am in you and to have confident trust in you, never doubting. Grant me the grace to always be obedient knowing fully well that obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). May I be salt and light wherever I go affecting everyone and everything around me. May I be blessed. You are my first, greatest and truest and purest love of my life. Thank you for loving me and coming to save me. Give to me the spirit of wisdom and may the eyes of my understanding, my spiritual eyes, be enlightened (Ephesians 1:8), and may any veil over my eyes be lifted and burst into flames in Jesus’ name. Ignite a passion and fire within me for more of you. I open my heart to receive more of you. Remind me always that I am nothing but with you I have everything. You are more than able and willing to help me to overcome all my circumstances: to heal me, free me, and bless me, more than I could ever ask, think or imagine and I know that I can do all things with you who fuels me from within. You are the God of the impossible and you are absolutely good. Help me to walk in the authority and power you gave me to fulfill the great commission: to spread your gospel, to heal the sick and free the oppressed. Teach me lord teach me. Jesus, I come back to holiness, sanctification, righteousness, and illumination. Give me the grace to stay on this path. Out of your glorious riches, strengthen me with power through your Spirit in my inner man, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. Help me to be rooted and grounded in love and may I be able to comprehend what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that I may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:14-21). In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
